Climate of the Golan:
The Golan has a Mediterranean climate with two specific characteristics that distinguish it from other Mediterranean regions: wet and mountainous climate ,specialties that motivated geographers to call it the Golani climate due to the specific terrain and directions of the sea wind. Cold north-western wind, which blows through the Lebanese Marjeyoun gap, and the height of the plateau, cools the weather in summer time .Winter in the Golan is generally cold and long . It starts in December and ends in March where average temperatures fall to 10 degrees. Snow falls several times during this period of time. The Golan is rainy with an average fall of 800 mm.
